“Passionately Loving the World”
The well-known homily preached by St. Josemaria Escriva on October 8, 1967 during Mass on the campus of the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain in which he joyously proclaimed, “I am a secular priest: a priest of Jesus Christ who is passionately in love with the world”. In this same homily he invites all Christians to a live a full life because, “There is only one life, made of flesh and spirit. And it is that life which has to become, in both body and soul, holy and filled with God: we discover the invisible God in the most visible and material things.”
This is a very special recording. It is the voice of St. Josemaria preaching the homily on October 8, 1967. Therefore, this recording is in Spanish.
“Christ’s Presence in Christians” (Easter)
This homily was preached by St. Josemaria Escriva on Easter Sunday, March 26, 1967. It’s a vivid reflection on the glory and mystery of the Resurrection of Christ and explains how Christians are called to respond to the event. He explains that ‘every Christian should make Christ present among men. He ought to act in such a way that those who know him sense “the fragrance of Christ.” Men should be able to recognize the Master in his disciples.’ This homily can also be found in Christ is Passing By, 02-116.
“To Jesus Through Mary” (Devotion to Mary)
This homily was preached by St. Josemaria Escriva on May 4, 1957. He explains how, "Many conversions, many decisions to give oneself to the service of God have been preceded by an encounter with Mary. Our Lady has encouraged us to look for God, to desire to change, to lead a new life. And so the "Do whatever he tells you" has turned into real self giving, into a Christian vocation, which from then on enlightens all our personal life." This homily can also be found in Christ is Passing By, 139-147.
